Buses Move America

May 8, 2020 by Bob Bergey

As many readers already know, my full-time job for the past 18 years has been driving motorcoaches across the US and Canada for Hagey Coach, Inc. of Souderton, PA. Hagey’s is one of approximately 3,000 motorcoach companies in the United States. I was laid off mid-March, one of nearly 88,000 employees of motorcoach companies in the US, as COVID-19 shut down virtually every … [Read more...] about Buses Move America

Zooming

May 7, 2020 by Bob Bergey

The pandemic COVID-19 has brought with it some new vocabulary and new practices. We wash our hands, we take our temperature, we shelter in place at home, we watch YouTube and Netflix, we practice social distancing and we wear our masks on the rare occasions we need to leave the house — and we Zoom. Zoom.us has been around since 2011 but many have only recently heard of it. … [Read more...] about Zooming

Lives or Livelihoods

May 5, 2020 by Bob Bergey

First, you need a compatible phone — it must have at least two cameras on the back, or it must be capable of capturing photos in Portrait mode. But the photo itself doesn’t necessarily have to … [Read more...] about How to Post a 3D Photo on Facebook

Masks and More

April 30, 2020 by Bob Bergey

Does wearing a mask, especially a homemade mask like so many of us are wearing now, cause more harm than good? One of the posts circulating on Facebook right now trumpets the dangers of anoxia (absence of oxygen) or asphyxiation (being deprived of oxygen) from rebreathing the carbon dioxide that we exhale into the mask as we breathe. The claim is that as the concentration … [Read more...] about Masks and More

Robo Calls Are Back

April 29, 2020 by Bob Bergey

Robo calls are back. I've had three so far today; the first two were the usual, 0% interest on my credit cards, then “Your car warranty may have just expired.” But the third one I got just now takes the cake, inspired by COVID-19, I'm sure. The caller was live, not a recording, and wanted to sell me a ”final services" package. I had to ask him to repeat it twice before I … [Read more...] about Robo Calls Are Back
