Reader View (Dammit, Hold Still When I’m Reading!)

June 25, 2020 by Bob Bergey

One of the most frustrating things when I’m reading a web page with lots of ads is having it jerk me back and forth as ads disappear and reload and change sizes, sometimes even forcing me to scroll back to see a paragraph I hadn’t yet finished reading. This is generally the result of poor website design, but it appears on even some of the biggest and best-known websites.  I … [Read more...] about Reader View (Dammit, Hold Still When I’m Reading!)

Apple Announcements Monday at WWDC20

June 24, 2020 by Bob Bergey

Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference 2020 is taking place this week. But for the first time, it’s not a physical conference — it’s a virtual conference, entirely online, and available not just to developers but to anyone interested. In past years it has been an expensive conference limited to a select number of developers chosen by lottery. Thanks to COVID-19, not … [Read more...] about Apple Announcements Monday at WWDC20

The business was growing quickly, … [Read more...] about Happy Father’s Day!

It’s hard to believe, as we approach 120,000 deaths from COVID-19 in just four months in the US, that we’re still needing to talk about this. Face masks. Overwhelming scientific evidence supports the importance of wearing face masks to get and keep this virus under control. But we’re still having a problem, apparently, understanding how important this is.  Not to get … [Read more...] about Face Masks — Again

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrating the liberation of those who had been held as slaves in the United States. Originating in Texas, it is now celebrated annually on the 19th of June throughout the United States, with varying official recognition. Lots of articles have been published online this week about Juneteenth, its history and its possible future as a US National … [Read more...] about Today, June 19th, Is Juneteenth

Joseph S. Skrzat Jr. — 1945-2020

June 19, 2020 by Bob Bergey

Long-time passengers of Hagey Coach, Inc. may remember one of our most interesting and colorful drivers, Joe Skrzat. Joe passed away on Monday (6/15/20). He will long be remembered by all who worked with him, and probably by most who rode with him, too! He was 74 and had been in declining health. Joe was a Navy veteran and served in Vietnam. Following a 4-year career in the … [Read more...] about Joseph S. Skrzat Jr. — 1945-2020
